Sunday Morning Preschool

Welcome to
St. Joseph Parish Sunday School!

The Sunday School Program at St. Joseph Parish is for children ages three through 6.  Sunday School is always offered during the 10:30 Mass.  We will run a 9:00 AM program if we have a minimum number of student participants.  Classes are held in the Preschool Wing located in the Elementary School building on the West Campus.

The Sunday School Program is divided into three seasonal sessions; Fall, Winter and Spring.  The seasonal session format allows for natural breaks during the holiday times when families are traveling.  It also allows us to require a shorter time commitment from lead teachers, as we have found that very few volunteers are willing to commit to teach for an entire year of programming.

We use the Pflaum Gospel Weekly program.  This program connects the Sunday readings to the weekly Sunday School Lesson.  Your child will bring home a leaflet at the end of every class so that you know what was covered.  In addition, we will send home leaflets for you to do with your child at home if they are unable to attend a class. You, therefore, can keep the faith formation going even on the weekends we are not in session!

This program is heavily dependent on volunteers.  We welcome parents, grandparents and high school aged students to serve as lead teachers in our program.  Lesson plans and resources are provided.  In addition, we eliminate the fee for one child for every parent volunteer.  If you are interested in volunteering or have additional questions concerning the program please call the Office of Youth Catechesis and Formation at 419-885-2181.
